Remember the Alamo!
We are sitting in the soothing shade of the gorgeous San Antonio Riverwalk. It is beautiful here and well worth the detour. Earlier in the day we visited both the San Fernando Cathedral and the Alamo. It almost feels like a rest day.
Our ride here was quiet until the din of the morning rush hour traffic overwhelmed us; the temperature is perfect though we did have a 7mph headwind.
It looks as if we have headwinds for a few hundred more miles; I am wishing for west winds once we cross into Louisiana.
I managed to navigate us into the Downtown area; hopefully I can get us out of here as successfully tomorrow.
The flooding along the Mississippi River continues to loom large in our minds. There are parts of my amended route that may be under 10-20 feet of water. Yet more modifications are surely in store for us. We have 400 miles to figure it out.
Until then our best choice is to enjoy every day and with it every experience on the road.
Adios from the Lone Star State…
